James Hunter is President of Validus. His experience over the last 25 years includes the areas of sales and marketing, operations and finance. Most recently Mr. Hunter was Chief Operating Officer for ReliaLAB, Inc., a company that develops and commercializes point-of-care diagnostic tests for psychiatric disorders. He began his career in the pharmaceutical industry as a Financial Analyst with Ciba Geigy Corporation. He held positions in finance and marketing at Ciba Geigy before becoming a Regional Business Unit leader in 1994. After the company merged with Sandoz in 1997 to form Novartis, Hunter assumed the responsibilities of National Sales Director in the Neuroscience sector and became a key member of the business unit management team. In this role he was responsible for the sales of the Neuroscience business unit which included the products Clozaril, Exelon, Comtan, Migranal, Tegretol and Trileptal. Hunter received his B.S. in Business Administration from Seton Hall University and his MBA in Finance from Farleigh Dickinson University.
Lee Rios is Chief Operating Officer of Validus and responsible for finance, managed care and product distribution. He has over 25 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, and has held positions in the areas of finance, managed care and human resources. Most recently Rios was Chief Financial Officer and Vice-President of Human Resources for Group DCA, Inc., a leading pharmaceutical electronic-detailing company. Rios began his pharmaceutical career at Johnson & Johnson where he held various positions in the finance department. At Ciba-Geigy Corporation, he held finance positions in both the pharmaceutical and consumer divisions and was Director of Marketing Business Analysis. Subsequent to the formation of Novartis, Rios was promoted to Executive Director of Managed Care Operations. In this position he was responsible for all managed care administration, including the development of business strategies for commercial, federal, and state customers which optimized $600 million of financial resources. Rios received his B.S. in Accounting from Montclair State University and his MBA in Finance from Seton Hall University.
Richard Post is Vice President, Sales and Marketing of Validus Pharmaceuticals. He has 18 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, most recently serving as Sales Director for the Eastern Region, Specialized Markets at Solvay Pharmaceuticals. While at Solvay, Post also held positions in mental health, gastroenterology, and women’s health regional marketing, training & development, and field sales. Prior to entering the pharmaceutical industry, he held various positions in secondary education as a high school guidance counselor and English teacher. Post received his BA in English from Simpson College, Iowa, and his Masters of Education from Rutgers University.
