Marplan is an important part of the treatment of depression.  Its strong medicine that may reduce or eliminate the troublesome ‘down’ feelings that depressed patients experience.  Marplan effectively relieves symptoms like: depressed mood, loss of interest in usual activities, significant change in weight and/or appetite, insomnia, increased fatigue, felling of guilt or worthlessness, slowed thinking or impaired concentration and suicidal thoughts.

Marplan is a long standing, safe and effective drug for patients who suffer from clinical depression.  People who have not responded to other classes of anti-depressant medications may do better on Marplan, and there is a good reason for that:

Marplan is a mood elevating agent called an MAO-Inhibitor.  Marplan works by elevating levels of brain chemicals, neurotransmitters, which at reduced levels can cause depression.  By blocking the action of an enzyme called monoamine oxidase, Marplan works differently than the commonly-known ‘SSRI drugs’, which selectively raise the level of one neurotransmitter.

Marplan is intended to elevate your brain chemicals.  With Marplan, physician care and support from family and friends, you’ll fell more energetic and optimistic.  And you’ll find yourself beginning to get more actively engaged in relationships at home and at work.

Your physician will determine the appropriate dose of Marplan that is right for you.
